Joint declaration for a queer and diverse East Germany.
In 2024, there were more CSDs than ever before, especially in small towns. But the threats from right-wing extremists has increased significantly. In response, we have founded a network of East German CSDs and Prides. Our signal: we are showing our presence with courage. We are prepared and we are not alone.
As queer people in eastern Germany, we are diverse. We organise large and small CSDs, we live in cities and in the countryside, we are young and old. We are united by our conviction: Our diversity is our strength. We stand together against all attacks. We are united by our common dreams.
We want a world in which everyone can live safely. We stand for a community of solidarity in which every single person can shine bright. We will not be intimidated, we will not hush away, and we will certainly not hide!
For the 2025 Pride season, we are approaching these goals together. It’s about our rights, our freedoms and our self-determination. We are making the diversity of queer life in East Germany visible!
We stand together for indivisible human rights and confidently go out in public. We call on everyone: Come to the smaller cities in eastern Germany! Provide on-the-ground support and donate to local initiatives!
Together we create safe spaces. We are sending an anti-fascist signal against hate and hostility.
